Early voting continues for the May 7 general, special and constitutional amendment elections. Around 1% of Texas registered voters cast ballots in person or by mail through Monday, the first day of early voting, in the constitutional amendment election.

Because there is a statewide election, which is conducted by county officials, concurrent with local elections, which are often conducted by those political subdivisions, voters may have to go to two locations to vote in this election.

The League of Women Voters has published its voter guides, which are available at Vote411.org.

HD23 open (Likely R): Associated Republicans of Texas PAC endorsed Patrick Gurski (R) in the runoff over Terri Leo-Wilson.

HD52 open (Lean R): The Combined Law Enforcement Assoc. of Texas PAC endorsed Caroline Harris (R) in the runoff over Pat McGuinness.

HD84 open (Likely R): Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed Carl Tepper (R) in the runoff over David Glasheen.

HD122 open (Likely R): Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed Elisa Chan (R) in the runoff over Mark Dorazio. The group previously endorsed Adam Blanchard, who finished third in the primary (23%).

CD28 open (Lean D): The campaign of runoff challenger Jessica Cisneros (D) released a new ad, “Last Word,” contrasting her pro-choice stance on abortion rights with that of U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo), who is pro-life.

CD30 open (Safe D): WEB3 Forward disclosed $252K in new independent expenditures supporting Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Dallas) in her runoff against Jane Hope Hamilton. The PAC was one of two PACs associated with cryptocurrency traders that each spent $1M in support of Crockett for the primary.
